Reached and trained more than 550 Somali journalists from across Somalia, of which at least 65% were women journalists. This achievement demonstrates our commitment to empowering journalists. By providing training opportunities, the network has equipped these journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their profession. This effort not only supports gender equality but also contributes to a more diverse and inclusive media landscape in Somalia.
Increased representation of women in leadership positions in the Somali media industry. By empowering and training women journalists, the network has paved the way for their advancement into management roles. It is commendable that five women, who received training from us, have successfully joined top media management positions. This achievement not only promotes gender diversity but also brings different perspectives and approaches to decision-making processes within media organizations.
