Today 19 November 2019 is opened one day training that is concerned about how women
working for media to join leadership and management.
This training is taken part with 12 women who is coming from different sectors of media. This workshop was organized by media women network and supported by IMS and FOJO.
The opening ceremony is attended by Kheire Ali Isaq, who is the general director of ministry of media of public in south-west state Somalia and he mentioned this training concerned with leadership and management for Women is the first train which occur in Baidoa and also he pointed out it’s an important opportunity.
Shukri Bidhan, one of the women participating in the training, mentioned today is a new day for
them to learn new lessons that inspire women working in the media who have never had access to such programs before. “I am very glad today to be part this workshop about leadership and management that I was searching a lot, in my dream I want to became minister this training will make my dream, and the first step that will help me to search what I want thanks to MWN”. Kaafiya Naaleeye who is the manager of specifically trainings for media women network also
talking importance of the this training and said “that the main concern of this workshop is to upgrade women’s knowledge, skills and showing their ability to make leadership and management with media and now is less. we need the change that women will lead the media, this one makes easy to get balanced stories made and now it seems that men are leading the majority, women’s voices of are less common now in media”.
Ladies were trained the way to talk and to search for what they want and how to take part discussions in their organizations, meetings for media by showing them that they want to share a balance with all work with all general work. In 2018, The media women network has trained around 70 ladies and trained for them leading and managing and for getting help with IMS and FOJO.
